Freddie Gray - MultiMedia
In response to the death of Freddie Gray from a broken neck after arrest by Baltimore City Police, residents are seething in anger. The outcry against the police department and its alleged brutality has created a cauldron of hostility with palpable hatred in the streets. Some of these images were made in front of the Western District Police Station - where officers created a protective barrier mocked by protesters as the "blue line". After the announcement of charges against the officers, people at Penn and North rejoiced at the possibility of equal justice.
